SANTO DOMINGO.– “On February 4th, we will break ground on the construction of the first two hotels,” President Luis Abinader declared today, referring to the Cabo-Rojo Tourism Development project in Pedernales.
The president said that at the beginning of next month they will break ground on the construction of two new hotels in Pedernales, a province in the southern region.
While leading the presentation of the Ministry of Tourism's 2022 data, Abinader explained that the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), together with the General Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships (DGAPP), are working on initiatives to accelerate the development of the southern region, especially the Pedernales project.
In addition, he indicated that they have visited "each pole developing medium-term strategies and identifying critical needs.".
He also highlighted that they are implementing a plan for the relaunch of the Northern Zone.
“Our tourism is growing faster than the rest of the world, which strengthens our leadership and places us in a very promising future scenario,” said the head of state, expressing high expectations for 2023.
