SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Treasurer, Luis Rafael Delgado, announced yesterday, Tuesday, that the Dominican government will begin distributing the thirteenth salary to public sector employees next Monday, December 5th.
During a press conference, the official explained that the Government will pay approximately RD$25 billion, divided into allocations for various items: RD$16,500,557,749 to Central Government employees, RD$5,596,912,925 to those of decentralized or autonomous institutions, and RD$1,626,000, equivalent to RD$88,405,620 for the payment of the bonus to public employees who provide services abroad.
Also, RD$1,755 million 94 thousand 821 pesos of current transfers to the payment of the Easter bonus and RD$1,392 million pesos to the entities that belong to the constitutional powers, for a total of RD$25,333 million 564 thousand 127 pesos for the payment of the Easter Bonus.
The first to receive the thirteenth salary are pensioners, members of the Armed Forces and the National Police.
He said that the purpose of providing these resources is to allow the families of public servants to plan their budgets for the Christmas season well in advance.
The amounts indicated do not include municipalities because they have their own budgets.
Delgado Sánchez suggested that public institutions upload their payrolls to the electronic payment system early to expedite the delivery of the 13th salary to public servants.
