The country's first private Technical Supervisors will conduct 84 monthly inspections

SANTO DOMINGO.- Private Technical Supervisors selected in the call for applications issued by the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) will be assigned a maximum of 84 monthly supervisions.

In the case of individuals, they may be assisted by an accredited support team to achieve the supervision of several works simultaneously, according to an amendment published by the Ministry, to complete the applicants' answers.

The MIVHED had reported that it would release several clarifying amendments and an updated set of conditions to clarify doubts for applicants in the first call for accreditation and registration of the country's first Private Technical Supervisors.

The government agency published several documents on its website that complement the process, such as the terms and conditions, sworn statement form, applicant's resume and experience.

The Ministry of Housing document states that point one of the Amendment corrects the order of the titles and includes improvements to relevant forms and definitions.

In section two, changes are made to the address, requirements and delivery format, the number of inspections is established and the date for the interview of the prequalified candidates is set.

The date for document delivery, according to the agenda of the government agency, is Thursday, March 30, from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon, in the Villa Esperanza Hall, located on the second level of the MIVHED, at Pedro Henríquez Ureña 128, corner of Alma Mater, La Esperilla sector, National District.

On April 6, errors and omissions that can be corrected will be reported, and the deadline for submitting them will be April 18; the prequalified applicants will be published on Friday, April 21.

The schedule indicates that the written evaluation for pre-qualified candidates will take place on April 26th, with a score of 85 points, while the interview will be held on May 3rd. The publication and notification of those who qualify is scheduled for Monday, May 22nd.

About the process

Last February, MIVHED announced the opening of the first call for applications for the qualification, accreditation and registration of the first Private Technical Supervisors in the Dominican Republic.

The call is directed to civil engineers or architects, who are duly registered and authorized in the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) or national legal entities.

“This is the act by virtue of which the MIVHED summons or calls all professionals with specialties in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Sanitary and Electronic Engineering to participate in the procedure for the call for the qualification, accreditation and registration of Private Technical Supervisors in the Dominican Republic, who will serve as private supervisors of building works, for the period May 2023 to May 2028,” the document says.

The state agency maintains that in this phase 50 supervisors will be selected who will be in charge of receiving, reviewing and inspecting the execution of the different stages of building construction, once the corresponding license or permit has been obtained, guaranteeing compliance with current regulations.
