SANTO DOMINGO – The Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) has called for a public consultation process for the proposed amendments to the regulations of Law 108-05 on Real Estate Registry, which will be open until February 2nd of this year.
The modification to the regulatory framework of Law 108-05 is due to the need to adapt said regulations to the evolution of the needs and requirements of the real estate sector, both in the regulatory, technological, economic and social spheres, with a view to strengthening legal certainty in the country.
The document posted on the Real Estate Registry's website states that the update also seeks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Dominican real estate registry system, responding to the strategic objectives of the Judicial Branch's Justice 20|24 vision to optimize the regulatory framework for strengthening services and achieving an efficient and reliable service, supported by technology.
The proposed regulations are the regulations of the Courts of Real Estate Jurisdiction, the General Registry of Titles, the Cadastral Surveys and for Parcel Regularization and Demarcation.
Those interested in participating in the public consultation have a period of 30 days to make their observations, which can be sent to the email address, consultareglamentos@poderjudicial.gob.do, or deposited in physical form at the General Secretariat of the Supreme Court of Justice located on the 4th level of the Supreme Court building, on Avenida Enrique Jiménez Moya, corner of Calle Juan de Dios Ventura Simó, Centro de los Héroes, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The documents submitted to this public consultation process with the observations, recommendations and suggestions must be made in writing, accompanied by the documents that support them.
