SANTO DOMINGO- The Superintendency of Banks (SB) announced that it received the ISO 37301:2021 certification, on Compliance Management, and the renewal of four other international certifications.
In that sense, he said that it is thus consolidated as one of the public institutions with the highest number of certifications that support the quality of its services, the assurance of the information it safeguards, its governance and continuity of its operations.
In an activity carried out at its headquarters, the SB obtained the new ISO 37301:2021 certification in Compliance Management, which endorses its purchasing and contracting processes, and the renewal of the ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 22301:2020 (Business Continuity), ISO 27001:2022 (Information Security) and ISO 37001:2016 (Anti-bribery) certifications , as part of an accreditation program initiated in 2020.
The event was attended by the Superintendent of Banks, Alejandro Fernández W.; the Mayor, Julio Caminero; the Manager, Juan Mendoza; the Legal and Compliance Consultant, Luz Marte; and Ariel Espejo, Director of AENOR for the Dominican Republic, the certification body responsible for the process, as well as other officials and collaborators from both institutions.
“Today we achieved five certifications: one new and four renewed. But beyond the number, we celebrate what they represent: a strong, efficient management model aligned with international best practices; one that not only responds to the challenges of the present, but also projects strongly into the future,” said Fernández W.
During his speech, the superintendent also highlighted that "these achievements are the result of the effort, discipline and commitment of each of the institution's employees, and reflect a firm commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.".
The Compliance Management certification represents a strategic milestone for the SB, strengthening its institutional governance model and promoting a culture of transparency and regulatory compliance.
With the accreditation, the institution is in line with the standards of the Regulatory Compliance Program for Public Procurement, created by President Luis Abinaderthrough Decree 36-21.
Likewise, the technical support of AENOR and the collaborative work of the internal teams that participated in the implementation and maintenance of the management systems were recognized , reaffirming the institutional commitment to the highest international standards.
In his remarks, the director of AENOR emphasized that “in this certification ceremony, we are celebrating something even more significant: the unwavering commitment of the Superintendency of Banks to trust. You have chosen to make trust an institutional hallmark, a differentiating factor that strengthens your relationship with the public.”.
With this new certification and the renewals obtained, the Superintendency of Banks reaffirms its vision of being a benchmark in the Dominican public administration, projecting a modern, robust management prepared to face the challenges of the present and the future.
