Refurbished executive aviation terminal puts into operation at Gregorio Luperón airport

PUERTO PLATA.- Universal Aviation and Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) formally inaugurated operations at the renovated executive aviation terminal of the Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, which joins the global network of terminals operated by Universal Aviation in more than 30 countries in America and Europe.

"We are extremely pleased to begin operations at this executive aviation terminal, which has been completely renovated under Universal Aviation's management model and standards, to meet the expectations of our customers in the northern part of the country, who, starting today, will receive the same level of service that we offer worldwide," highlighted Danilo Rosario Jiménez, director of Universal Aviation in the country.

"Without a doubt, it will help raise the profile of the Gregorio Luperón International Airport," he added.

A press release indicates that the renovated terminal has all the facilities for the comfort of users, including exclusive concierge services, valet parking, barista coffee, buffet, signature menu for in-flight catering, covered luggage carts, minivan transfers to the aircraft and high-speed internet on the ramp.

The country's north coast, which includes the destinations of Puerto Plata, La Isabela, Sosúa, Cabarete, Gaspar Hernández, Río San Juan, and Cabrera, has experienced a resurgence with the development of high-profile tourism projects, such as Grupo Aman, and new investments, such as Punta Bergantín, which aims to be the benchmark for hotels, business, and leisure in the area

Founded in 1959, Universal Aviation employs more than 1,700 people worldwide, with a combined experience of more than 3 million trips globally.

In the late 1970s, Universal established its first international ground handling locations, which would later become Universal Aviation's worldwide ground handling network.

Currently, Universal Aviation has more than 50 FBOs (fixed-base operators) and ground support locations in more than 30 countries, according to a press release.
