In Mexico, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, received three awards for the Dominican Republic during the roadshow held here this week to promote the tourism offerings, an event attended by travel agents, tour operators and airlines.
The three awards given to the country were Travel Shop, Punta del Este Operadora and the destination Punta Cana.
Travel Shop, a wholesale operator of travel agencies with more than 10 years of experience, was recognized for its innovation in tourism promotion, its track record, and its confidence in the Mexican market.

Punta del Este Operadora was recognized for its 20 years of participation in the tourism sector in the Dominican Republic. The company offers destinations in Central and South America.
Punta Cana, the main national tourist destination, received the “Medal of Excellence in Meeting & Events 2024” as the best “Latin American City” in meetings and events tourism.
“This award reflects the constant effort to position the Dominican Republic as a leader in this industry. A source of pride for everyone!” Collado emphasized upon receiving the recognition for Punta Cana.
