SANTIAGO, CHILE. The Real Estate Registry (RI) participated in the IV Technological Workshop of the Ibero-American Registry Cooperation Network (IBEROREG), an event developed to promote cooperation in registry and technological aspects among the Ibero-American member countries of the organization.
The local agency was represented by César Javier Márquez Matos, manager of Registry Support, and Jeison Pacheco, interim manager of Information Systems.
At the event, the working group addressed topics such as digital signatures, digital certifications, the registry alert project, operational processes with the integration of artificial intelligence, among others.
In sharing the registry alerts initiative, the Dominican representatives indicated that this service, which is being implemented in a pilot phase, consists of providing users with a legitimate interest in a registered property with notifications through digital channels as soon as they enter the Registry of Titles, regarding the property or properties subscribed to the service.
In his presentation, the Registry Support Manager, César Javier, indicated that “as part of IBEROREG, we are focused on being more efficient and accessible to citizens, and that implies adopting technological solutions that simplify procedures and promote legal certainty. For this, collaboration between Ibero-American countries is of vital importance in the development and implementation of innovations in registry processes,” he emphasized.
A press release highlights that the workshop also discussed aspects of rural land subdivision and registration practices, culminating in working groups that allowed for an interesting dialogue among the participants.
During the meeting, IBEROREG members also participated in the XXVII Assembly of the Chilean Corporation for Studies in Registry Law, where they discussed topics such as the legal capacity to enter into acts and contracts, the personal data law and its impact on property registries, as well as the new cybersecurity legislation applicable to registries.
