SANTO DOMINGO.– The Real Estate Registry announced the publication of the first "compendium of registration criteria", developed from the first assembly of registrars and aimed at standardizing the criteria used in title registrations.
The compendium, based on Resolution DNRT‑DT‑2023‑004, organizes the technical and legal guidelines that must be applied in the interpretation of Law 108‑05 on Real Estate Registration and its regulations.
A press release from the institution highlights that it was issued by the National Directorate of Title Registration (DNRT) and establishes the criteria applicable to actions such as registrations, certifications, annotations and other administrative processes carried out in the title registries.
The document explains that the compendium seeks to "reduce discretion in registration decisions and facilitate the consultation of criteria that were previously scattered across different jurisdictions.".
"Among its main guidelines, the compendium includes the criteria applicable to the classification of documents, the technical requirements for their processing and the guidelines for resolving recurring registration situations, in accordance with current regulations," the entity states.
The DNRT indicated that the criteria will be reviewed periodically to adjust them to regulatory and jurisprudential changes.
The compendium is available for public consultation and will be used as an operational reference in the country's title registration offices.
