SANTIAGO.- President Luis Abinader inaugurated the restoration of the Las Carreras Avenue overpass and related works in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros.
This project aims to improve the environment and ensure safe traffic for residents and visitors.
The project addresses the construction of the retaining wall for the Las Carreras Avenue overpass, as well as related road maintenance and surrounding area improvements, according to a press release from the Presidency.
Geologist Osiris De León highlighted the significant change in engineering criteria under the leadership of President Luis Abinader and the Ministry of Public Works.
De León asserted that the structure, designed as a bunker to withstand maximum soil pressure and maximum seismic forces in the event of an earthquake, is a clear example of the new standards applied in the current administration.
"Today we are delivering a project that meets the highest engineering standards, guaranteeing an effective response, even in the worst-case climate or seismic scenario. Every citizen who uses this crossing can rest assured that nothing negative will happen to them or their families," De León emphasized.
The geologist expressed his gratitude for the new approach to engineering implemented since the presidency of Luis Abinader and the Ministry of Public Works.
The structure is built on a foundation of piles that extend beyond the soft ground, ensuring a strong and durable structure.
