Popular presents its BIZ business card portfolio

SANTO DOMINGO.-During the ninth edition of the Impulsa Popular Forum, Banco Popular Dominicano (BPD) presented its new portfolio of BIZ commercial credit cards, featuring a wide range of benefits and an optimistic image to help boost the competitiveness of the bank's various business, commercial, and SME clients.

The new portfolio includes the Impulsa, Advance, Excelsa, Drive, DP World and Business Debit cards, whose business users will also have access to +Control, a tool to manage spending, allowing them to define amounts, geographic area, times or types of merchant.

The Impulsa, Advance and Excelsa cards will have a preferential financing rate of 0% for new customers of these cards, as an introductory measure, later adjusted to a competitive financing rate.

Impulsa cardholders will enjoy a strengthened loyalty program with Popular Miles, with welcome bonuses and additional miles for purchases in selected categories; Excelsa will grant access to local and international airport lounges (Loungekey), while Advance will have exclusive cashback percentages on all local purchases and, especially, on service payments.

At the Impulsa Forum, Popular presented its business clients with the best tools and strategies based on the intelligent use of data and advanced analytics, and how their application helps them connect with their consumers and understand them in depth to boost their businesses to a higher level.

In his welcoming remarks, the CEO of Banco Popular, Christopher Paniagua, spoke about how this forum offers new tools and perspectives to businesses so that they can continue to gain agility, adapt, and achieve new goals.

The Vice President of Planning at Banco Popular, Omar Silié, explained that new technologies and digitization provide a greater volume of data that paves the way for new opportunities.

“The use of data and analytics is a strategic pillar of our financial institution, which drives us to move faster and anticipate the needs and expectations of our clients, knowing precisely their priorities,” he said.

The forum featured presentations from national and international professionals and experts on strategic data management, trends in digital payments, cybersecurity culture and risk management, among other topics.

Guests learned from the presentations “The Bionic Revolution: The Power of Data,” by Gonzalo Troncoso, partner at Boston Consulting Group, and “Ten Trends That Will Shape the Payments Landscape,” with Sofía Antor, general manager of VISA for the Dominican Republic.

The audience also enjoyed a panel led by Brian Hansen, Director of Security at MasterCard, and Federico Muller, Cloud Solutions Architecture Manager at Microsoft, accompanied by Diego Laverde, Vice President of Information Security at Banco Popular, on the panel “Focus on a culture of cybersecurity”.
