SANTO DOMINGO.- Grupo Popular received significant recognition as the company with the best overall reputation and best digital reputation, leading the financial sector, in the first release in the country of the Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (Merco), a reputation assessment tool for companies, which has a presence in more than 15 Ibero-American countries and has been conducted since 2000. The results were audited by the firm KPMG.
Among the companies with the best reputation in the Dominican Republic, Grupo Popular achieved a perfect score of 10 out of 10, out of a total of 100 corporations evaluated, placing it in first position. Meanwhile, in the category of companies with the best digital reputation, this parent company led the ranking and also took first place in the ranking for best sectoral reputation in the financial sector.
Grupo Popular's efforts to be a company of permanent social value were also recognized with the third position in the Global Ranking of Most Responsible ESG Companies, with a 9.8 out of 10.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo Popular, Manuel A. Grullón, achieved an important distinction as the sixth Dominican businessman with the greatest reputational leadership in the country.
In its explanatory document, Merco details that it is the only reputation monitor in the world verified by an independent auditing firm in accordance with ISAE 3000. The methodology for obtaining the results is based on surveys of representatives from different target audiences. Both the results and the weighting of the criteria are publicly available.
