It includes a convention center, more than 3,000 residential units, and a 31-story hotel
SANTO DOMINGO – Developer Noval Properties presented the Coralia project yesterday, Tuesday, June 30th, a real estate and tourism investment exceeding US$1.3 billion that seeks to transform the Santo Domingo East coastline through the construction of a mixed-use complex comprised of seven 50-story towers, an international hotel, a convention center, and high-end commercial and residential spaces.
The new high-end project was presented by César Latrilla, CEO of Noval Properties, as the first vertical city facing the sea to be built in Santo Domingo, a strategic proposal for the urban, tourist and economic development of the Dominican capital, with the vision of turning the so-called Eastern Zone into a new center of investment and real estate growth in the Caribbean.
“Coralia is not simply a real estate project; it is a city vision designed under a mixed-use concept that includes six condo-hotel towers, a hotel tower, a convention center, a sky lounge, a commercial area, recreational areas and parking, all articulated within an urban ecosystem oriented to respond to new ways of living, investing and enjoying the city,” he explained.
According to information provided during the launch, the project will feature more than 3,300 high-standard residential and tourist units, in addition to a 31-story hotel operated under the international brand Meliá.
The convention center is projected to have a capacity for 6,000 people, while the towers will feature indoor amenities such as a lobby lounge, coworking spaces, a food and beverage area, a snack bar, a media room, a game room, a kids' club, and a gym. Outdoor areas will include a poolside bar, a BBQ area, a solarium, a garden, a spa, a playground, sports areas, and a beauty center.
A mixed-use complex facing the Caribbean Sea

The development will include a convention center with a capacity for approximately 6,000 people and an area of 12,000 square meters, designed to host corporate events, congresses and international activities.
The project will also include commercial areas, a food market, restaurants, entertainment spaces, a spa, a gym, wellness areas, and sky lounges with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the city of Santo Domingo.
According to the developers, the location of the complex is one of its main attractions, due to its proximity to strategic infrastructure such as the Las Américas International Airport, located about 20 minutes away, and the Colonial City, approximately 10 minutes away.
Staged development
Coralia's master plan envisions a phased construction process, starting in the southern part of the complex and progressing northwards, with the aim of ensuring orderly growth and the gradual activation of the main infrastructure.
The stages will include the sequential development of the residential towers, the hotel infrastructure, the convention center, and the commercial and recreational spaces that will make up the complex.
One of the largest real estate investments in the country
With an estimated investment exceeding US$1.3 billion, Coralia is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious real estate, tourism, and urban developments announced in the Dominican Republic in recent years.
The proposal seeks to combine the concept of urban living with resort experiences, integrating housing, tourism, business and entertainment in the same space, at a time when the country continues to register sustained growth in real estate investment and tourism development.
The construction will be carried out by CHEC, a Chinese construction company with extensive experience in large real estate developments.
The launch event was attended by the mayor of Santo Domingo East, Dio Astacio, as well as representatives from the main Dominican real estate agencies, construction entrepreneurs, investors, and other personalities.
