SANTO DOMINGO.- Residents of the Cana Bay tourist complex announced the creation of the CABANA neighborhood association, a non-profit community organization recognized under Law 176-07, which brings together owners and residents of the various functional units located on the Eastern Tourist Boulevard, KM 28, in Verón–Bávaro–Punta Cana.
The organization explained that it does not intend to replace any public or private institution, but rather to complement existing efforts and serve as a bridge of communication between residents and municipal authorities, and that its mission is to facilitate dialogue and promote joint solutions to the challenges that arise on a daily basis.
In a document sent to El Inmobiliario, they said that the initiative arises in a context of accelerated expansion in the Verón–Bávaro–Punta Cana area, where real estate and tourism growth has generated new needs for internal organization.
They added that the new group seeks to become a formal channel for expressing concerns, presenting proposals, and coordinating actions that benefit those who live in the area.
According to the information provided, the board is comprised of owners and residents from various tourist condominiums located within the development to ensure broad and balanced representation. "This composition allows different sectors of the complex to participate in decision-making and contribute to building a more orderly model of coexistence," the community members explained.
They state that their priorities include defending community interests, presenting initiatives related to security, mobility, infrastructure and environmental management, as well as promoting social and cultural activities that strengthen the sense of belonging among the inhabitants.
They add that the organization will also promote clear and accessible communication mechanisms to keep the community informed about relevant initiatives, projects, and decisions. Transparency, its members state, will be a central tenet of all its actions.
Another goal of the group, according to its representatives, is to foster integration among the various groups living in the development, promoting mutual respect, collaboration, and the building of agreements that benefit everyone. They pointed out that the active participation of residents will be key to the success of this new structure.
