MIVHED will publish a clarifying amendment for applicants for Private Technical Supervisors

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) announced that it will release several clarifying amendments and an updated set of conditions to clarify doubts for applicants in the first call for accreditation and registration of the country's first Private Technical Supervisors.

Through circular number one of answers posted on its website, regarding "procedure for the presentation of credentials in the first call for the qualification, accreditation and registration of Private Technical Supervisors in the Dominican Republic," addressed to all applicant participants, the government entity offers 24 answers to questions made by candidates for the position, stating in seven of the points that it will soon publish clarifying amendments on them.

"Regarding the aforementioned procedure, we are pleased to answer the questions posed
by the participants/applicants. The following inquiries were received between the ninth (09) of
February 2023 and the twenty-third (23) of February 2023," states the MIVHED, after providing answers to the questions.

In case one, it is clarified that it is essential that the degree title of the professionals involved be legalized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT).

For question two, the Ministry states that it will post the applicable formats for the proposed personnel's resumes on its website. Regarding question three, about whether the list of supervised projects belongs to the company or the proposed personnel, the response is that "an explanatory amendment and updated terms and conditions will be uploaded to the MIVHED website.".

The above response applies to cases five, eight, nine, ten, twelve, 15 and 16, all relating to the presentation of credentials for those interested in filling the 50 vacancies available for the first professionals for said positions in the Dominican Republic, for the period May 2023 to May 2025.

The applicants must have specialties in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Sanitary and Electronic Engineering, who will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and inspecting the execution of the different stages of building construction, obtaining the corresponding license or permit, guaranteeing compliance with current regulations.

"The presentation of credentials for the first call for the Qualification,
Accreditation and Registration of Private Technical Supervisors in the Dominican Republic is a
different procedure, therefore, you must present the documentation required to be accredited," responds the MIVHED in question six, referring to professionals already certified in structural vulnerability and surveying at the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

Point eight clarifies that this first call for applications is free of charge.

In question 13, regarding whether MIVHED will receive any payment from the client or the private supervisor for the inspections, the entity responded, "Yes. The inspection fees charged by MIVHED will be published.".

In case 20, the Ministry of Housing specifies that a case or application may not have more than two Private Technical Supervisors during all stages of inspection. "A third change of Private Technical Supervisor must be approved in advance by the MIVHED," it states.
