The election will be held for jurisdiction one
SANTO DOMINGO.– The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed) has issued a second call for applications for the qualification, accreditation and registration of 2 Urban Managers for jurisdiction one, who will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and managing the processing of plans and applications for the issuance of building permits.
The state agency explains that during the first call in November of last year, no applications were received for that jurisdiction, and that in those received regarding No. 2, only Adanmery Julissa García Bloise and Arcadio María Vargas Cruz managed to prequalify.
“The present set of specific conditions for the second call for the Qualification, Accreditation and Registration of Urban Managers in the Dominican Republic, has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the regulations contained in decree 642-22 dated November 7, 2022,” explains the Mivhed.
Law 160-21 defines Urban Manager as any natural person who, at the request of the applicant or interested party, is in charge of receiving, reviewing and managing the processing of plans and applications for the issuance of building licenses, in the zones or areas that the Mivhed has determined as its jurisdiction and who is accredited and enabled for such purposes.
According to the circular, the call is directed to civil engineers, architects, or law graduates, duly registered in the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) and in the Dominican Republic Bar Association (CARD).
“The number of urban managers per jurisdiction is determined based on the licensing dynamics of the regions or groups of regions, and in no case can fewer than 2 managers be appointed in each jurisdiction,” the document explains.
The Mivhed abounds that during the last call for applications, the Jurisdiction number one was declared void.
The Urban Managers that will be enabled in the country will work in the Southeast, Cibao and South regions that include Yuma, Higuamo, Ozama, North Cibao, Northwest Cibao, South Cibao, Valdesia, Enriquillo and El Valle.

According to the schedule published by the Mivhed, the deadline for submitting expressions of interest will be tomorrow, Tuesday, February 6, 2024, while the deadline for making inquiries by interested parties will be until Friday, February 9.
The deadline for submitting responses to inquiries is February 14th, while the deadline for submitting documents is February 28th, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Mivhed facilities.
The deadline for reporting errors or omissions requiring correction was set for Friday, March 1st, and for submitting corrected documents, the deadline was set for Thursday, March 7th. The list of prequalified participants will be published on March 12th.
The Mivhed calendar details that the training process for pre-qualified candidates will take place on March 19 and the written evaluation on the 26th; the interview on April 2, the publication and notification of qualified candidates on the 8th of that month, while the swearing-in ceremony will be held on the 18th and the accreditation and signing on April 25, 2024.
