Mitur begins construction of parking lot on Bayahibe beach

Tourism Minister David Collado inaugurated the construction of a vehicle parking lot at Bayahibe beach this Monday, with an investment of RD$192,316,767.

The project, which was a long-standing demand of local stakeholders, involves the construction of a tourist parking area to meet the high demands of tour operators, users of the pier, and visitors to Bayahibe beach, according to a press release from the Ministry of Tourism.

“Here we are fulfilling our commitment and addressing this just and long-standing demand. This project will undoubtedly mark a turning point here on Bayahibe beach,” Collado stated.

The construction will cover an area of ​​26,000 square meters, including parking for 66 buses, as well as for another 129 light vehicles and 28 motorcycles.

The project will also include offices, public restrooms, a police detachment, and five security booths for the Tourist Police (POLITUR).

The work to be carried out includes 2,364 square meters of sidewalk; in addition to 6,613 square meters of green areas and the work of channeling the rainwater drainage for the proper collection of water from the area.

The project also includes lighting, landscaping throughout the area, and equipment, among other amenities.
