SANTO DOMINGO-Replacing dirt floors with cement floors is one of the social programs implemented by the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED), aimed at people with limited resources.
On the website of the entity that is still known as the National Housing Institute (INVI), it appears as one of the main services offered by the entity, providing a link for filling out the application.
Improvement and Habitat is the division that handles the cases, through the care unit, which they explain works from eight in the morning to three in the afternoon, Monday to Friday.

The MIVHED explains that the protocol to follow is to go to the correspondence department and deposit a letter that must be addressed to the minister and whose demand may include a request for housing, materials, repair and change of dirt floor to cement.
It establishes that through the ministry it is transferred to the social sub-directorate, who will be responsible for contacting the applicants so that they come to the institution to deposit the documents.
The next step, the institution states on its website, is to send trained personnel to the location to conduct a survey and determine whether or not the request is valid. “If the need is validated, resources will be allocated according to the institution's capacity to meet or mitigate it.”.
The organization clarifies that this is a completely free project.
