It comes from the multinational Talima Venture and has 5 levels, 10 commercial premises on the ground floor and 18,000 square meters for corporate offices

SANTO DOMINGO.- Betting on the economic reactivation of the new normal challenged by COVID-19, Metro Plaza arrives in the Dominican Republic, a project with an investment of more than 40 million dollars and which is projected to contribute around 2,000 jobs to the country's economy.
It is sponsored by a multinational corporation and follows the new concept of combining corporate offices with a commercial area. It has 35,000 square meters of construction and two parking garages with a capacity for 600 vehicles.
“Metro Plaza is a commercial and corporate meeting point that offers a unique urban experience of fashion, culture and gastronomy, thus being an alternative to traditional shopping centers, where you can find everything in one place,” explain Alfonso Uzcátegui and Benjamín García, Regional Marketing Coordinator and Property Manager, respectively, of Talima Venture, the development and operating company, in response to questions for El Inmobiliario.
Talima Venture is an organization with 60 years of experience, dedicated to the development and construction of large mixed-use complexes. Headquartered in Panama, it has offices in several countries worldwide. It has completed comprehensive projects in Panama, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Honduras, the United States, and Greece, and its portfolio includes hospitals, hotels, shopping centers, logistics parks, and administrative offices.
The establishment—Uzcátegui and García explain—offers a new and unprecedented urban shopping experience in Santo Domingo, thanks to its unique focus on open-air shopping. This, along with its prime location, has attracted prestigious local, national, and international brands.
It is located on Charles Summer Avenue in the Fernández Urbanization, a Dominican capital city, where the Supermercado Nacional supermarket opened in May. The grand opening is scheduled for October of this year. This multinational investment features five levels, ten retail spaces on the ground floor, and 18,000 square meters of corporate office space.
Among the commercial offerings that the new establishment will offer are Aliss, a leading department store in Central America and the Caribbean; Abatte Hair Salon, Altice Cell Phone, Crost Pizza, Green Bowl, Pronto Pasta, Helados Bon, Yogen Fruz, among others.
Executives assure that the building has an earthquake-resistant structure and adheres to all COVID-19 biosafety protocols. “Grab & Go services will be offered so customers can pick up their purchases without leaving their vehicles. The facilities have 24/7 security personnel and CCTV.”.
In addition, pets will be allowed in the common areas under the supervision, care, and responsibility of their owners. The plaza will be open Monday through Sunday, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Retail stores, restaurants, and offices have their own operating hours.
The company has its second Metro Plaza project under development, located in San Isidro, which is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year.
