SANTO DOMINGO.- President Luis Abinader and the Minister of the Presidency, Lisandro Macarrulla, visited the Praderas del Norte housing project in Los Alcarrizos yesterday, Saturday. This project, part of the Happy Family National Housing Plan, consists of 800 homes.
The housing project, of which 230 homes will be delivered in June, is in charge of the Ministry of the Presidency (Minpre) and has 11 four-story apartment buildings, and 67 double houses, each of which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living-dining room, kitchen and laundry area and essential services such as drinking water and electricity.
Macarrulla explained that, through the National Happy Family Housing Plan (PNVFF), the aim is to create opportunities for low-income Dominican citizens living in vulnerable conditions to change their lives and make the dream of all Dominicans a reality: a decent and safe home of their own.
He indicated that the municipality of Los Alcarrizos is no exception. It is characterized by being a community with a large number of inhabitants, many of whom live in rural areas, affected by the harsh weather, without access to basic services such as drinking water and electricity.
“The PNVFF is the first program for access to decent and own housing, aimed at Dominican families from social segments with great difficulties in acquiring them, thus reducing the housing deficit,” he highlighted.
Lisandro Macarrulla stated that this initiative marks a milestone in creating the largest process of access to decent housing at the national level, guaranteeing the safety and health of families.
This program is developed through a public-private partnership process, in which the State provides citizens who apply with the resources that will allow access to financing through different types of bonds that will help with bank payments.
