SANTO DOMINGO.– Xanadú Resort & Residences is the residential complex with which the Hodelpa Group will invest in the once famous tourist destination of Puerto Plata, where the history of vacation tourism in the Dominican Republic began to be written in 1980.
With an investment of US$36 million, the hotel chain plans to impact the area by creating 100 direct jobs in a complex scheduled to open in March of next year.
According to details provided by its executives, the project will have 255 apartments, seven private pools in exclusive buildings, with access to Playa Dorada.
Xanadu Resort & Residences will offer an attractive range of facilities with amenities and services for the enjoyment of the whole family, such as a restaurant, lounge bar, gardens, assigned parking, 24-hour security, play areas, and elevators in each building.
The executives indicated that they trusted Puerto Plata for this type of project because it is the second most complete and important tourist destination in the country, offering beach, mountains, golf, adventure and culture; in addition to being the closest tourist destination to the 14 provinces of the Cibao region.
The project will be built on the grounds of what was the Grand Paradise Hotel, which was acquired by the Hodelpa group to develop the work, in a space of 35,000 square meters.

The final phase of the project, to be built by TE-EX Architects, will consist of several buildings with units ranging from 33 to 153 square meters, each with a bedroom, bathroom, living area, and fully equipped kitchen. Each building will have an elevator, parking, beach, pool, or garden views, and access to areas of the Emotions Puerto Plata Resort, part of the hotel chain.

Purchasers of the new Xanadú Resort and Residences complex will have access and special discounts at bars and specialty restaurants in Emotions Puerto Plata Resort, such as Orégano Dominican Fusión; the Italian restaurant Amaci, the Mexican Lolita, the seafood grill Bígaro, and the exclusive Evolutions Spa.
