President Luis Abinader led the inauguration of the Lolita II Residential complex this weekend in Hato Nuevo, Santo Domingo Oeste, as part of the Happy Family National Housing Plan . The president oversaw the first delivery of 140 new apartments to the same number of families, directly impacting 560 people.
The Minister of Housing, Habitat, and Buildings (MIVHED), Carlos Bonilla, stated that the current administration has built approximately 10,000 homes through the Mi Vivienda (My Home) program. "Through the Familia Feliz (Happy Family) program, 3,500 homes have been built. We have also repaired more than 50,000 homes through the Dominicana Se Reconstruye (Dominican Republic Rebuilds) program, and through MIVHED, nearly 700 hospital beds have been put into operation across all the hospitals we have delivered," the official reported.
The Lolita II Residential project has 340 apartments, distributed in three-bedroom, two-bathroom units, benefiting a total of 1,360 people, according to a press release from the Presidency.
The housing units have a kitchen, living room, dining room, balcony, laundry area and access to a playground, as well as including parks with seating and parking for vehicles (one per unit), as well as spaces for motorcycles and visitors.
The surroundings offer multiple accessibility facilities, such as public bus and motorcycle transport, schools, a minimarket, a gas station, a medical dispensary, a park, and the nearby Hato Nuevo playground.
In financial terms, the total investment in the Lolita II project amounts to RD 369,040,000, of which RD 247,800,000 corresponds to private investment and RD 121,240,000 to the subsidized contribution of the State.
The president was accompanied on his tour by the Minister of Women, Mayra Jiménez; the former Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención; the governor of the province of Santo Domingo, Lucrecia Leyba; the mayor of Santo Domingo Oeste, Francisco Peña; the general manager of the Development and Export Bank (Bandex), Juan Mustafá; and the deputy Leyvi Bautista.
