The National Housing Plan "Happy Family" implemented by the Government delivered 608 apartments to the same number of families this weekend in the Hato Nuevo IV, Santo Domingo Oeste.
“With great pride, we inaugurate the second phase of this project in Hato Nuevo, Manoguayabo. These homes are where new dreams will be born, homes that are the result of a vision and a firm commitment: to build a country where every family can live with dignity, security, and hope,” said Vice President Raquel Peña, who led the ceremony.
He emphasized that owning a home is one of the greatest aspirations of Dominican families. “Thousands of homes have already been delivered with property titles, and tens of thousands more have been repaired throughout the country. This is the clearest proof that when you govern with vision and commitment, the results reach the people,” Peña affirmed.
A press release from the Presidency highlights that the new national units add to the 400 delivered by the Government last year, to total 1,008 homes built in this locality, totaling 100% of the Hato Nuevo IV project.

The Deputy Minister of Construction of the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed), Danny Santos, stated that from the institution, “we will continue working with efficiency and social awareness so that more and more Dominicans can access their first home.”
The housing complex has 144 apartments of 53 m² with two bedrooms and one bathroom, and 464 apartments of 65 m² with three bedrooms and one bathroom, which will directly benefit 1,830 people.
Hato Nuevo IV has multiple spaces and services for residents, including: living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, laundry area, parking (one per unit), children's play area, gazebo, pavilion and church.
The total investment amounts to RD 1,300 million, of which RD 782 million corresponds to private investment and RD 518 million to subsidized contribution of public funds.
The project also highlights the role of women, who represent 64% of the beneficiaries, many of them heads of household in families, and 36 of them received an extra bonus through the Ministry of Women.
