Government delivers 227 apartments in Sabana Perdida and other projects in the Dominican capital

SANTO DOMINGO- President Luis Abinader yesterday delivered 227 apartments in Sabana Perdida and other projects in the National District and Greater Santo Domingo, which will contribute to the development of their communities.

The Dominican president also inaugurated the renovated Félix Sánchez Stadium, 5 buildings in the Olympic Village, a daycare center in Ciudad Juan Bosch, as well as sidewalks and curbs in Villa Mella.

In Sabana Perdida, Abinader delivered 227 apartments in the Juan Pablo II Residential complex, located in La Javilla, Sabana Perdida, in Santo Domingo Norte. This is the 22nd apartment delivery under the "Happy Family" program.

The Deputy Minister of Investment Projects of the Ministry of the Presidency, Camel Cury Lora, stated that these 227 housing units provide a better way of life, greater accessibility and a recreational area.

For his part, the president of Constructora Bisonó, Rafael Bisonó Genao, congratulated President Abinader for caring about people in need who do not own their own homes.

He specified that this Happy Family program will have approximately 9,600 apartment units in the coming years.

Olympic Village

Meanwhile, at the Olympic Village, the president handed over 5 fully renovated buildings, which will have the capacity to house 300 athletes.

The 5 buildings each have 6 apartments, for a total of 30 housing units.

Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz stated that these apartments will also be used for the 2026 Central American Games and that this is a country that invests in its youth through sports.

These buildings are furnished and include stoves, refrigerators, televisions, fans, washing machines and furniture, among other appliances, explains a press release.

What does the remodeling consist of?

Work was done on replacing tiles, installing doors, all electrical work, windows, and new bathrooms, which included replacing all the hot and cold water plumbing. The roofs were also waterproofed, the floors were polished and buffed, and the house was painted.

Caipi Ciudad Juan Bosch III

Later, the president, along with the executive director of the National Institute for Comprehensive Early Childhood Care (Inaipi), Josefa Castillo Rodríguez, inaugurated the Caipi Ciudad Juan Bosch III, to benefit 275 children aged 0 to 5 years.

The opening of the new center is part of the government's plan, through Inaipi, to expand services aimed at early childhood and their families.

Paving of sidewalks and curbs, SDN

At the end of the day, the head of state inaugurated 2.2 kilometers of asphalt, sidewalks and curbs in the streets of the El Paso sector, Villa Mella, a project that will positively impact the quality of life of its inhabitants and contribute to the development of the area.
