The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cap Cana, Fernando Hazoury, congratulated the organization and the effort dedicated by the Ministry of Tourism and all the delegations that represented the Dominican Republic at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2024).
Hazoury highlighted the great work done by Minister David Collado and the country's tourism cabinet at this and other fairs, where they have demonstrated their commitment to positioning the country internationally as a tourism powerhouse, while also attracting new investments.
“Proof of this is that at the conclusion of the fair, it was announced that the country will receive approximately $3.5 billion in new hotel investments. Likewise, Cap Cana, together with Collado, announced a new project, Juanillo Village, which will begin in 2024 and will be something never before seen in the country, with a concept of more than 1,000 apartment units, boutique hotels, condo-hotels, and 30 to 40 commercial spaces on the beach,” Hazoury stated.
He added that each step being taken jointly by the public and private sectors for the growth and development of Dominican tourism is increasingly significant and yields extraordinary results.
Cape Rojo
“I also want to applaud the tireless work that the Director of the General Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships, Sigmund Freund, has been doing, who, led by President Luis Abinader and the tourism cabinet, has managed to launch and make a reality of the Cabo Rojo project in Pedernales, which has a positive impact on the Enriquillo region that encompasses several provinces in the deep South,” he emphasized.
He said that the impact of this project is already having evident results and could be seen during the presentation made by said management within the framework of Fitur.
Culture
The businessman, who is also involved in tourism and construction, concluded by saying that an example of the diversification that must be sought in tourism today, looking towards other areas, was the active participation of the Minister of Culture, Milagros Germán, throughout the week in Madrid.
He also highlighted the presence of the country's top representative to the Kingdom of Spain, Ambassador Juan Bolívar Díaz, as evidence of the central government's active commitment to Dominican tourism.
