SANTO DOMINGO– The Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) has requested the intervention of President Luis Abinader to stop the recent dismissals of engineers and other registered professionals in various public institutions.
The organization made an urgent appeal regarding the dismissal of numerous members from ministries, general directorates and, in particular, from the distribution companies Edeeste, Edenorte and Edesur.
The president of CODIA, engineer Carlos Mendoza, appealed to the president's sensitivity, urging him to take measures to reverse these cancellations, which directly affect the members and, by extension, the continuity of important projects in the country.

Mendoza expressed his confidence that, given Abinader's ability and vision as a statesman, these decisions will be reviewed and efforts will be made to reinstate the affected professionals to their positions.
“The government has shown sensitivity in justice decisions, and we trust that the President will value the importance of these positions for the development of the nation,” Mendoza said.
The head of CODIA reiterated the institution's commitment to defending the rights and professional well-being of its members, as well as advocating for fair and equitable treatment in the public sector.
He stated that the institution he represents will continue working to ensure that registered professionals have the necessary support for the full exercise of their functions.
