SANTO DOMINGO.- The Eastern Regional Chapter of the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) is inviting its members, business owners, developers and merchants who wish to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in various fields and contribute to the national energy system to participate in its upcoming event, which will be held in the eastern tourist hub.
The “5th National Congress of Engineering, Architecture and Surveying” will take place at the Barceló Bávaro Gran Resort from June 23 to 26 of this year, with an interesting program of topics and international speakers to provide attending professionals with new knowledge.
It simultaneously includes the "2nd International Congress of Engineering and Architecture and the 2nd Energy Symposium", both of which will be held in two halls in simultaneous face-to-face mode.
“Our goal is to contribute to the development of the Dominican Republic, offering the State solutions to promote the sustained growth of construction, technological advances for food production, environmental protection, natural disaster control, and the efficiency of public and private services related to the sector,” explains engineer Carlos Mendoza, national coordinator of the meeting.

It also aims to exchange with participating countries the progress made in the areas of engineering and architecture, share experiences in the management, development and administration of projects and create spaces for the exchange of experiences to promote scientific research.
“In the case of the Energy Symposium, we seek to conduct a national assessment of the national energy system and the contribution of both the public and private sectors to non-conventional and renewable energy, so that we can provide the Dominican state with experiences and alternatives to explore new sources that can help the national energy system become less dependent on hydrocarbon-based energy,” Mendoza points out.
The event includes keynote lectures with the Ministers of Housing, Public Works, Energy and Mines, electric companies, among other stakeholders.
