SANTO DOMINGO.- Techo RD's "Great Collection" returns to the streets with the goal of raising funds to continue building emergency housing in impoverished communities and other community projects.
This weekend, June 3, 4, and 5, the National District, Santo Domingo East, San Francisco de Macorís, Bonao, and Santiago will be filled with color as volunteer brigades are stationed at various points, requesting the support of the population to continue their work of helping people and families in vulnerable conditions.
The red zone of the National District will consist of five points: John F. Kennedy Avenue with Núñez de Cáceres at the Pedro Francisco Bonó Station, as well as Núñez de Cáceres with Gustavo Mejía Ricart, 27 de Febrero with Núñez, Alberto Defilló with 27 de Febrero and Núñez de Cáceres with Rómulo Betancourt.
The Pink Zone will cover Winston Churchill Avenue with Charles Summer, with Gustavo Mejía Ricart, with Rafael Augusto Sánchez, with Pastoriza, with 27 de Febrero, Jiménez Moya with Sarasota and with Independencia Avenue.
The purple line will cover Abraham Lincoln Avenue with Bolívar, corner of 27 de Febrero, La Lira park, Lincoln with Gustavo Mejía Ricart, with John F. Kennedy and Los Próceres with Euclides Morillo.
The Green Brigades of Hope will be located at Lope de Vega with Gustavo Mejía Ricart, Kennedy with Tiradentes, Tiradentes Avenue with Gustavo Mejía Ricart and with Roberto Pastoriza, 27 de Febrero with Tiradentes, Alma Mater with Pedro Henríquez Ureña and Alma Mater with Simón Bolívar.
The yellow representation consists of the streets Kennedy with Máximo Gómez, February 27 with Máximo Gómez, Máximo Gómez with Pedro Henríquez Ureña and with Simón Bolívar.
Santo Domingo East
The blue zone will be located in Santo Domingo East on Charles de Gaulle Avenue near the Bravo Supermarket, km9 of the Mella Highway and San Vicente de Paul Avenue with the Mella Highway.
Santiago de los Caballeros
In the heart city there will be two zones: the blue one made up of the Plaza Paseo teams on Juan Pablo Duarte Avenue, 27 de Febrero with Estrella Sadhalá, the Duarte Highway overpass and Estrella Sadhalá with Bartolomé Colón.
The green area will be distributed in the vicinity of the UTESA university in Estrella Sadhalá, Las Carreras with República de Argentina, Calle del Sol corner of San Luis and the Hermanas Mirabal Park with Las Carreras.
SFM
The people of San Francisco de Macorís will be distributed along Avenida Libertad, the Hermanas Mirabal exit, Presidente Antonio Guzmán with Club de Leones, Avenida Libertad in front of the UASD, Calle Salcedo with Calle de la Cruz, 27 de Febrero with Restauración and at Palmeras Mall on Avenida Antonio Guzmán.
Bonao
Volunteers will be collecting donations from Avenida Pedro A. Comuna with 16 de Agosto, Juan Bosch with Quisqueya, Duarte with Aniana Vargas, Pedro A. Comuna with Padre Billini, in front of UASD and in Duarte Park.
Miguel Cunillera, president of Techo RD, invited the private sector and the general population to join the actions that seek solutions to the housing deficit in the country, such as the fundraising campaign that will be carried out simultaneously in five provinces next weekend, with the support of Banco Caribe.
He urged the authorities to continue increasing efforts to reduce the wide gap of social inequality and indicated that donations can be made by approaching directly to the volunteers identified with the Techo RD t-shirt and house-shaped piggy bank.
