Codia announces it will offer training sessions for engineers on the one-stop shop for construction  

SANTO DOMINGO.-The Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) announced that it has spoken with the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED), with the aim of having the members of the organization become familiar with the Single Window for Construction through continuous training sessions. 

Juan Antonio Villar González, president of the association, indicated that he also held a meeting with the Ministry of Higher Education and Technology (MESCYT) to review and simplify the internship, verification and validation process for the exequatur of the members.

He adds that the Minister of Public Administration (MAP), Darío Castillo Lugo, highlighted that engineers, architects, and surveyors have a significant role in the services that are interoperating through the Single Window for Construction; therefore, supporting the modernization of processes in conjunction with the program will contribute to the country's economic development. 

A press release from CODIA states that, due to the economic impact of the construction sector on the country's development, the executive committee of the Zero Bureaucracy program met with the organization's directors to begin work on streamlining its processes and promoting interoperability with public institutions, in order to eliminate obstacles, reduce response times, and promote innovation within the professional body. 

In this regard, CODIA maintains that with the support of the Zero Bureaucracy commission it will review the union database, the regulatory provisions on the disciplinary regime, as well as promote the obtaining of the digital signature for union members who do not yet have it, as established by Law No. 126-02, on Electronic Commerce, Documents and Digital Signatures.

The meeting was attended by, representing the Zero Bureaucracy results unit, Adagel Grullón and Gabriela Molina; representing the digital agenda 2023, Reyson Lizardo, the general secretary of IEM, Carlos Eligio Mendoza, secretary of Education and Events Yrene López San Pablo and the secretary of Inter-union Relations Yobanis Lorenzo and members of CODIA.
