SANTIAGO.-The Cibao Savings and Loan Association announced the VIII call for the José Santiago Reinoso Lora Competitive Funds Program for Sustainable Development 2024-2025, with an endowment of RD$12,000,000.00 for the winning projects.
Yara Hernández, VP of Communications and Sustainability, expressed that this program is a tangible example of the Cibao Association's commitment to the communities it serves, through support for Non-Profit Associations (ASFL) in carrying out good works that generate well-being and development.
“The Competitive Funds Program is our main social investment initiative, which encourages positive social, environmental, and economic transformation for our society. In the last seven years, thanks to the program, we have allocated RD$63 million to co-finance 54 non-profit projects nationwide,” he stated.

The executive noted that this call for proposals focuses on a trilogy that summarizes the simplified model of sustainable development: Social, with thematic categories focused on education, culture, housing, health, inclusion, food, and technology; Environmental, for topics that promote reforestation and conservation of flora, water, waste sorting, renewable energy, environmental education, wildlife conservation, and technology; and Economic, oriented towards social entrepreneurship, employability, financial education, and technology.
All non-profit organizations that have been incorporated for at least one year and comply with the regulations established by Law 122-05 for the Regulation and Promotion of Non-Profit Associations in the Dominican Republic may apply.
Applications for this eighth edition of the competitive funds are now open from November 2024 until February 28, 2025. The winning projects will be announced by the Cibao Association in April or May 2025.
