Cap Cana destination will close the year with 8,500 rooms

PUNTA CANA- With an estimated investment of US$3.6 billion, the destination city of Cap Cana will have 8,500 rooms operating in both real estate and hotels throughout the complex by the end of the year.

According to Cap Cana's CEO, Jorge Subero Medina, of the number of rooms that will become operational, 3,500 correspond to hotel projects and the remainder to real estate constructions.

“The investment is around US$3.6 billion, if you divide that by the 20 years that Cap Cana has, we are talking about some US$180 million invested annually,” he said, while highlighting that all the projects are 100% sold and most of them are financed.

Subero Medina indicated that this year there have been some problems with delays in the arrival of construction materials, but that the situation has been stabilizing.

“By the end of the year with 8,500 rooms, we will have a large number of people who will decide to live in Cap Cana,” he noted.

He also noted that major real estate projects will be completed next year and that 1,500 rooms are currently under construction.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, between January and September of this year, the Department of Tourism Planning and Projects received 569 applications.
