SANTIAGO. The Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC Dominicana) awarded BASC security certification to Bellón SAS, the first retail company to achieve it and the fourth in this city to comply with the international standards of that organization.
The delivery took place within the framework of the panel “Risk Management in the Supply Chain”, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santiago and Bellón, the hardware store with more than 70 years in the Dominican market.
BASC Dominicana promotes a culture of security in local and international trade activities, to minimize the risk of smuggling, illegal trafficking and other crimes in the supply chain.
Carlos Iglesias, CEO of Bellón SAS, in his welcoming remarks, commented that “we are called to promote secure trade and that is what BASC does, an institution that promotes preventive actions to ensure legitimate trade.”.
The event took place at the Business Building in Santiago, and featured Nellys Sánchez, CEO of NS Consulting Group, and Omar Castellanos, executive director of BASC Dominicana, as panelists.
Those present included Armando Rivas, president of the board of directors of BASC Dominicana; Ángel Abelardo Iglesias, logistics director; Ramón Pou, operations director; and Emily MacDougall, marketing and customer service director of Bellón.
Bellón SAS was founded on October 1, 1949, in the center of the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Today, with 72 years in the market, it has 9 branches throughout the national territory; more than 1,200 employees and a wide range of products from prestigious national and international brands.
