NEW YORK – Banco de Reservas inaugurated its real estate fair in this city yesterday, Friday, making more than 7 billion pesos, equivalent to more than 100 million dollars, available for Dominicans residing in the United States to finance the acquisition of real estate in the Dominican Republic.
The announcement was made by the entity's general manager, Samuel Pereyra, at the opening of the event in New York, highlighting that preferential rates of 8% for low-cost housing, fixed for three years; 10% fixed for 5 years; 12% fixed for 10 years, among other facilities, will be offered.
He said that prior to the inauguration, more than RD$5 billion had already been approved for housing belonging to different projects, of which around RD$3 billion have been disbursed, which highlights the confidence in this type of fair.
“Today, as we inaugurate this important fair, our team has already secured more than 2,500 confirmed appointments for New York and Lawrence. All of these interactions are conducted through vetted real estate agencies and established development companies in our country,” Pereyra emphasized.
He reported that more than 80 percent of the units exhibited at the fair are under the trust, which ensures strict monitoring of project completion and delivery processes.
The fair, the first of its kind held abroad, will be open until March 24 in Washington Heights, New York, specifically at the Radio Hotel, near where the bank's representative office is located; while in Lawrence, in the state of Massachusetts, it will take place from March 23 to 24.
“At Banreservas, we have always kept in mind our compatriots residing abroad, who maintain a strong desire to return to their longed-for homeland, to retire at the end of their working life in the United States or to own property in their country of origin,” Pereyra stated.
He recalled that for this reason, the institution began the project in 2023 to open three representative offices abroad, the first of which was installed in Madrid, Spain; and the other two in New York and Miami.
From these three locations, Dominicans residing in these cities and their surroundings can manage savings accounts in pesos and dollars, enroll in digital channels, manage debit cards, replace damaged or expired cards, and process mortgage loans.
In that regard, he said that the bank is once again taking another step forward, by inaugurating the first mortgage fair abroad, so that compatriots residing in the United States can acquire their own home in the Dominican Republic.
