SANTO DOMINGO– The specialized magazine Euromoney awarded Banco de Reservas the title of “Best Bank in the Dominican Republic 2023” for its achievements, growth, and ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs. It affirms that the bank offers an exceptional portfolio of financial products and services.
Euromoney also highlighted the financial results of Banco de Reservas, including return on assets, revenue generated and non-performing loan coverage, among other indicators.
The award was received in London by the general manager of Banreservas, Samuel Pereyra, who was accompanied by the senior general director of International Business and Corporate Governance, José Obregón Alburquerque, and Fraysis Moronta, Senior General Director of Human Capital, Processes, Technology and Operations, among other executives of the financial institution.
Other awards
Furthermore, the international banking magazine, World Finance, announced this July that Banreservas has been recognized in five categories:
Best Corporate Governance Bank, Best Investment Bank, Best Commercial Bank, Best Consumer Bank and Best Private Bank in the Dominican Republic.
In a press release, Banreservas highlights that it has also substantially improved its position in the ranking of the "Top 1,000 Best Banks in the World" assessed by The Banker magazine. It now occupies position number 770, 161 positions higher than in 2022.
Furthermore, it has become the number one bank in the Top 5 Most Profitable Banks (Return on Capital) in Latin America, Central America, and the Caribbean, and number six worldwide. It also ranks number one in assets in the Dominican Republic and in the Top 3 in Central America and the Caribbean.
Banreservas has also placed in the Top 10 in Capital TIER 1 in Central America and the Caribbean, being the 52nd bank with the largest increase in tier 1 capital in the world (+29.6%).
Furthermore, it ranks among the Top 10 in Return on Assets (ROA) in Central America and the Caribbean, and among the Top 4 most profitable banks in the same region. The Banker will announce the details in its upcoming July edition.
Weightings for the award
Euromoney's editorial board, in awarding the prize in London to Samuel Pereyra and a delegation from the bank, praised Banreservas' ability to meet its strategic objectives and the historical milestones achieved by the institution, which have allowed it to position itself as a leader in the market.
He also assessed the bank's digital strategy, approach to cybersecurity, and corporate social responsibility.
This is the sixth time Euromoneyhas awarded Banco de Reservas the "Best Bank in the Dominican Republic" prize. Furthermore, it was included in the Euromoney Market Leaders 2022 Ranking, where it holds the top position in the Dominican Republic in the following categories:
Investment Bank, Environmental and Social Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Bank for SMEs and Digital Solutions.
In recent years, Banreservas has received several awards from national and international organizations and publications in recognition of its achievements in business management, technological innovation, and support for national productive sectors.
Last June, Global Finance magazine awarded Banreservas in the categories of "Best SME Bank in the Caribbean Region" and "Best SME Bank in the Dominican Republic 2023" for its support and variety of products and services, as well as its innovation for the sector.
