SANTO DOMINGO.- Banco Popular Dominicano was chosen as the best company to work for in the country, according to the results of the study carried out each year by Mercado magazine, which evaluates the level of satisfaction of employees of national and multinational companies based in the country.
This is the eleventh consecutive time that Banco Popular has received this recognition and, according to Mercado magazine, this is because “Popular has developed strategies for its employees under a model based on five fundamental pillars: physical, financial, social, professional and emotional well-being, made up of programs that respond to each of these aspects.”.
The institution leads the number of employees among privately held financial entities, with a staff averaging around 7,889 employees, showing a satisfaction rate of 91%, according to a press release.
In its edition, Mercado highlights the career development and well-being opportunities that the company offers its employees. Last year, its employees received 1.3 million hours of training and development activities, demonstrating that its people are its most valuable asset and that it promotes an environment of continuous personal and professional growth, creating "a favorable and stimulating climate for achieving organizational goals.".
Among the initiatives focused on improving overall personal and family well-being, as well as professional development, are benefit programs, training and development, physical and emotional well-being initiatives with spaces such as the Wellness Center and breastfeeding rooms or the inclusion program for people with disabilities “Popular for All”.
The financial organization also offers its employees identification and support services for individual and family needs, special credit conditions, health and life insurance, preventive health programs, clubs related to employees' particular interests (sports, photography, reading, etc.), productivity incentives, dynamic groups focused on the agile adoption of changes, digital transformation and lifelong learning, as well as actions and programs to enhance the individual capabilities of employees, such as coaching and mentoring, among other aspects, explains the press release.
The bond with collaborators is consolidated through ContiGo, an institutional strategy that covers different areas, with versatile and easy-to-use digital spaces, which unify the human and talent management platforms.
At the publication event that served to present the results of this year's ranking, Mrs. Antonia Antón de Hernández, Senior Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Cultural Transformation, Credit Administration and Compliance at Popular, participated, who thanked them for the distinction and expressed during an interview that "at Popular we are a company that believes in its human talent, because our employees are the soul and pillars of the organization.".
