Banco de Reservas receives 5 awards in Europe

SANTO DOMINGO.-The European magazine Euromoney awarded Banco de Reservas five prizes as Best Digital Bank in the Dominican Republic, Best Bank in Latin America for Social and Corporate Responsibility, Best Bank in the Dominican Republic, Best Bank for SMEs in the Caribbean and Best Bank for SMEs in the Dominican Republic.

The new awards were received in the English capital by Samuel Pereyra, CEO of Banreservas; and José Obregón, executive vice president of International Business and Corporate Governance of the financial institution, and whose recognitions place this bank as the most awarded in its genre in the Dominican Republic so far this year.

In assessing this distinction, Pereyra said that the organization receives these awards with great humility and reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting the nation's productive sectors, as well as the dreams and aspirations of Dominicans.

“In recent years, Banreservas has not only limited itself to granting loans to its clients, but has dedicated itself to transforming into a robust, innovative, agile and close bank to meet the needs of all the Dominican people,” he said.

Award Categories

The award for Best Digital Bank in the Dominican Republic recognizes innovation in digital channels, the adoption of emerging technologies that guarantee an innovative user experience, the growth of its digital customer base, and the online transactions carried out by Banreservas. Furthermore, the bank valued the security and data protection on its digital platforms and evaluated its innovative approach to technology as an essential factor in developing productive solutions.

Regarding the recognition as the Best Bank in Latin America for Corporate Social Responsibility, Euromoney valued the bank's promotion of diversity and inclusion, as well as its efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, promote employee development, and foster social mobility. It also highlighted the bank's innovative and effective initiatives for strengthening the local community and its ethical business practices.

For the Best Bank for SMEs in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean categories, Euromoney took into account that Banreservas has an active portfolio of RD$89,283 million and a passive portfolio of RD$98,482 million, distributed among its more than 156,667 SME clients, which represents 21.7% of the local market share.

Another recognition the financial organization received was as Best Bank in the Dominican Republic, which recognizes Banreservas' leadership in the banking sector and the excellent financial results obtained, in addition to the clearly differentiated business model, the ability to adapt to changing market conditions and the track record of meeting the objectives set by the institution.

These awards confirm Banreservas' strong positioning and leadership within the national and international financial system, seen as the ultimate driver of job creation and multiple financial opportunities in Dominican society, according to a press release.
