SANTO DOMINGO – The Jet Set Justice Movement has called for a peaceful march on February 22nd to honor the memory of the victims of the tragedy at the Jet Set nightclub and reiterate the demand for justice.
The march is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and will travel from the Dorados Clubhouse to the Mural of Victims of the Tragedy, in the District of Haina, a space that has become a meeting point for relatives and friends of the deceased.
According to the announcement issued by the movement, the event aims to keep collective memory alive and demand that the legal process continue with transparency and accountability. The organizers invited the community to participate dressed in white, as a symbol of peace, unity, and hope.
The early morning of April 8, 2025, marked one of the most tragic events in the country's recent history, when the roof of the nightclub collapsed during an event, leaving 236 people dead and more than 180 injured. The tragedy sparked national mourning and opened a legal process that is still ongoing.
In this context, the gathering in Haina comes just weeks before the first anniversary of the event, amidst a scenario in which relatives of the victims and sectors of society continue to demand clarification and justice.
The Jet Set Justice Movement has reiterated that its purpose is to prevent the case from being forgotten and to maintain public attention on a process that has deeply affected multiple communities across the country.
