All state institutions will be integrated into a staggered work schedule starting next Monday, reports MAP

He reported that during the first day of implementation, more than 20,000 public servants joined the staggered work schedule scheme.

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Minister of Public Administration, Sigmund Freund, assured this Wednesday that by the beginning of next week100% of the institutions will have officially integrated into the new staggered work schedule, which is part of the plan to decongest the streets of Greater Santo Domingo.

"We have to understand that there are many institutions that have complex natures, the number of employees they have, being able to coordinate and square the schedules with people with different realities, is not a simple task; so what we always thought, and this is how it is being established, is that from yesterday it was going to be staggered and it was not going to be 100% completed on the same July 1st," Freund explained.

The Minister of Public Administration (MAP) assured that the plan is progressing as scheduled and that 68 public institutions have already begun its implementation. He emphasized that this result was achieved thanks to the ongoing collaboration with each government entity since the issuance of Circular 008962 , which formalizes the staggered work schedules, to ensure compliance with the document's provisions.

The goal set out in the circular issued by the MAP is to have public institutions with a presence in Greater Santo Domingo divide 70% of their staff into shifts from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm;while the remaining 30% can maintain their usual schedule, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

More than 20,000 servers have been integrated

Minister Freund reported that on the first day of implementation, more than 20,000 public servants joined the staggered work schedule scheme.

A statement issued by this institution on Tuesday specifies that 21,806 public servants began working the new schedules, approximately 4,200 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and 11,204 from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, while 6,402 remained with the usual schedule of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The Minister of Public Administration made these statements when approached by media representatives after participating in the iTICge 2024 awards ceremony, organized by the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (Ogtic), where 17 state institutions were recognized for their outstanding use of ICT and innovation to improve public services and offer more effective solutions to citizens.
