SANTO DOMINGO- AEI, the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies, trained around 3,000 real estate agents during 2022, within its certification program and alternative courses offered in virtual and face-to-face modalities.
“2022 was a year of learning, both in terms of training and business. It has been a year of progress for our agents and companies, with significant growth and results,” explains Alberto Bogaert, president of the Association.
According to the data provided by the entity, during 2022 five certifications were carried out: three CBR01, intended for novice agents, and the most advanced CBR02, aimed at brokers who already have experience and who seek to update and renew their knowledge.
In addition, the AEI held its traditional congress in August of this year, this time called "The New Real Estate Era", which was attended by more than 700 real estate agents and companies, with the participation of three outstanding pillars of the sector, who brought their experience and knowledge to share with the attendees.
Also during the year, the organization conducted two CRS Designations from the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) in Spanish, taught by Costa Rican Ana Seidy López, whose certificates and pins were awarded during the August congress.
In addition, on the first of this month, he held an International Masterclass with two experienced international exponents of the real estate field, with one hundred real estate representatives.
For Bogaert, 2022 was a year in which the post-pandemic market's momentum slowed due to economic factors, but despite this, significant progress was made. "This year we noticed real estate agents interested in their training, in learning new technologies and tools to develop their businesses," he explains.
New Board of Directors
Last October, the AEI renewed its board for the next two years, where Bogaert was re-elected, accompanied by Juan Estévez, first vice president; Isely Almánzar, second vice president; Reyna Echenique, secretary; Wendy Gómez, treasurer; Christine Gómez, first member and Indhira Desangles, second member.
What 2023 will bring
The president of the AEI predicts a 2023 full of positive energy, with many important projects planned by the Association, including in-person activities at both the national and international levels. “Furthermore, we will continue with the CBR01 and 02 courses, always keeping them up-to-date and featuring the best instructors.”.
Bogaert understands that the real estate sector's customary growth will maintain its usual place in the Dominican economy. And while he prefers to leave the element of surprise as a challenge, he does share that initiatives are coming in terms of events and training, certifications are being renewed, and on the political front, "there are also outreach efforts with some powerful entities to promote plans that will strengthen the sector.".
