AEI President appointed global representative to NAR board of directors for 2024

SANTO DOMINGO– The Dominican real estate sector continues to reap positive results, ending 2023 with excellent news. Alberto Bogaert, president of the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies (AEI), was recently appointed as the global representative to the board of directors of the National Association of Realtors for 2024.

The NAR is the largest trade organization in the United States, with 1.5 million members, including institutes, societies, and councils, involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

Bogaert highlighted the importance of his appointment for the country and said it is a distinction and recognition of the work he does at AEI both locally and internationally.

The term lasts one year, and according to what he told El Inmobiliario, the real estate advisor, within his functions and responsibilities along with the NAR board, will be to govern and deliberate on issues that affect the daily business life of the members both in the United States and internationally.

Bogaert added that he will also be part of NAR's Global Business and Partnerships Committee. "This is a great opportunity to strengthen our relationship with this association, which has 1.5 million members. This appointment demonstrates their recognition of the growth in image, membership, and value of the AEI and those of us who lead it," the AEI representative stated.

He explained that the AEI has maintained an agreement with the international organization for many years, part of which implies that for real estate agents to be part of the NAR, they must first have membership in the Dominican association.

He said that this is the first time a Dominican representative has joined the board of directors of the international organization, and according to Bogaert, it is due to the national and international projection that the Dominican guild has experienced in recent times.

NAR membership comprises residential and commercial brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, advisors, and other individuals involved in the real estate industry. Members belong to one or more of approximately 1,200 local associations/boards and 54 state and territorial REALTORS® associations.

The NAR was founded as the National Association of Real Estate Exchanges on May 12, 1908 in Chicago, with 120 founding members, 19 boards and a state association, with the objective of "uniting America's real estate men for the purpose of exerting a combined influence on matters affecting real estate interests.".
