It highlights its work plan for the coming years
SANTO DOMINGO. – More than 30 companies and actors linked to the construction sector were recognized by the Association of Housing Builders and Promoters (Acoprovi), during its 2023 Christmas meeting, for their contributions to the entity's committees and logistics, in situations of risk and vulnerability that occurred this year.
Annerys Meléndez, president of Acoprovi, speaking at the event, referred to the association's progress regarding the strategic axes defined for its management during the coming years, citing first, a favorable regulatory framework for the sector, competitiveness and innovation, along with sustainability.
“The immediate future of the sector was outlined in Acoprovi’s Vision 2030, which incorporates these and other historical objectives,” he explained during the meeting, held at the Hilton Homewood Suites hotel in the Dominican capital.
Meléndez highlighted the main points that will guide her administration in the coming years. “Building homes is the pride of transforming materials into shelters and structures, into love and harmony,” said the representative of the builders.
Acoprovi paid tribute to its driving partners, social responsibility initiatives, and allied advisors, according to a press release from the organization.
The driving partner was Cemex Dominicana, CP Construcciones Planificadas, Gerdau Metaldom, Grupo Pedralbes, Grupo Sención, Melcon Construcciones, Estudio Hjaldo, Luis Abbott, Otilio Barrientos, Ricardo del Villar, Ricardo Leslie, Roberto Carvajal, Yermis Peña and Solange Pimentel.
In social responsibility, the following were awarded: Therrestra, GHR Desarrollo Inmobiliario, Melcon Construcciones, Ropeca Construcciones and Argos Dominicana; while in allied advisors, the following were recognized: Alberto Reyes, Alejandro Canales, Alfonso Vergara, Augusto De Los Santos, David Serna, Leslie De Jesús, Luis Abbott, Miguel Acevedo, Robinson Cuello, Rodolfo Santa María, Santiago Sicard, Vishwa Constructora, Yermis Peña and Yuri Pinilla.
“For us, this recognition from Acoprovi is an incentive that drives us to continue working tirelessly for the well-being and quality of life of Dominicans through excellence and sustainable development of the sector,” said architect Otilio Barrientos.
During the cocktail reception, a minute of silence was observed in honor of the recently deceased engineer Francisco González, highlighting his legacy in the national construction sector and in Acoprovi, by José Rodríguez Cáceres and Jaime González, past presidents of the organization.
The association reiterated its commitment to reducing the housing deficit and ensuring that Dominicans achieve their dream of homeownership, as well as facing the current challenges of the sector with optimism.
Those attending the meeting shared anecdotes and impressions about the performance of the construction sector during 2023, as well as their expectations for 2024.
