SANTO DOMINGO.- The real estate agency Urban Group offered its facilities as a collection center to receive aid that the real estate sector and the population wish to provide to the families affected by Hurricane Fiona in the country.
Likewise, AEI, the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies, issued a call to the real estate industry community to unite in solidarity with the families in the eastern and northeastern regions of the country, who were affected by the passage of the atmospheric phenomenon.
“Everything collected will be sent to distribution centers,” explains a statement from Urban Group, titled “Let’s lend a hand.”.
The firm suggests donation options such as canned goods, diapers, baby food, candles, sanitary napkins, clothing, sheets, toilet paper, toothbrushes, soap, among others.
The company, which has over 100 agents across the country, said that Fiona produced heavy rain and strong winds that caused significant losses. They clarified that they are not accepting cash donations and that donations will be accepted starting today, Friday the 23rd. Those wishing to contribute should call 829-420-9990.
AEI calls on the real estate industry to unite in solidarity with victims of Hurricane Fiona
"We call on our members and the real estate sector to unite as a collective in support of Dominicans affected by Hurricane Fiona, which left hundreds of families homeless," says a statement posted by the Association on its Instagram social network.
The AEI, as an association and sector, states that it joins the national conscience during these difficult times for many Dominicans. "We invite everyone to contribute to the relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Fiona," the organization indicates.
AEI specifies that it is currently identifying a series of collection centers, which it will announce in due course, so that those interested can bring their donations. AEI suggests non-perishable food items, household goods, mosquito nets, clothing, sheets, towels, and other products that may be useful during times like these for those affected.
