SANTO DOMINGO.-With the purpose of replicating the good practices of the Real Estate Registry (RI), a delegation from the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) recently visited the institution's headquarters to learn about the process of custody, digitization and printing of documents carried out by the entity.
The recovery and massive digitization of archives has been one of the most important transformation processes exhibited by the management of the current general administrator of the RI, Jhonattan Toribio Frías, who maintains that there is currently a large amount of publicly accessible documents.
“We changed the paradigm from using physical documents for transactions to providing digital access for internal and external users. Thanks to this project, we now have a digital repository where publicly accessible documents can be consulted,” the head of the DGII delegation explained.
During the tour, the team, made up of staff from the document management department of the DGII, learned about the digital transformation process that the organization has undergone, particularly regarding document and archival management and how technology has been used to make operations more efficient.
The delegation also learned about the consultation process, issuance of degree certificates, the institutional vault, among other areas and procedures of the institution.
“We find the progress the institution has shown in terms of document management and digitization, as well as the accessibility of documents once digitized, very interesting. We are grateful for the opportunity they have given us to observe their processes, learn from them, and emulate these best practices in our institution,” said Genaro Corporán, head of the document management and central archive department at the DGII.
In addition to the RI's general manager, the delegation was received by Michael Campusano, operations manager, and Adabelle Acosta, user service manager.
