Abinader oversees progress on the “My Home Hato Nuevo” project

SANTO DOMINGO.-Hato Nuevo, Santo Domingo Oeste, is one of the communities benefiting from the "My Home" program, which the Government is promoting to counteract the housing deficit in the country.

One thousand three hundred and thirty-two housing units are being built in this sector of Manoguayabo, of which more than 800 will be delivered in the second half of this year 2022, according to a promise made by the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED)

Over the past weekend, President Luis Abinader toured the construction site to oversee the progress of the housing project, which is part of the 5,000 apartments the government promises to deliver this year.

The residential development is being built on a plot of land with over 43,000 square meters of green space, including children's play areas and an environmental reforestation program to combat climate change. The program includes an ecological trail that runs throughout the entire project, providing residents with opportunities for exercise and outdoor walks.

During the visit, housing vouchers were given out that cover up to 60% of the cost of the units to the families who were beneficiaries, who have up to 20 years to pay off the remaining cost of the homes.

Among the beneficiaries who signed their contract and received the bonus are nurse Santa Mónica Bernardo along with her husband José Mercedes Guzmán, Bianelis Araujo and her family, among other purchasers who thanked the president for the help in being able to have their first home of their own.

Hato Nuevo is part of the housing project announced by the central government that stipulates the construction of more than 7,400 apartments distributed between Santiago and Santo Domingo.

In addition to the Hato Nuevo project in the city of Santo Domingo, MIVED is building housing projects in Ciudad Modelo and San Luis; while in the northern zone, the La Barranquita and Los Salados projects are being carried out.

During the tour, the president and the vice minister Dany Santos were accompanied by the governor of the province of Santo Domingo and other authorities from the area and from the Ministry of Housing and Buildings.
