Dubai is making headlines again with images of the Dubai Creek Tower, which, once completed, will become the world's tallest skyscraper, standing at over 1,300 meters, far surpassing the Burj Khalifa. To put that into perspective, it will be four times taller than the Empire State Building in New York.
The tower will feature multiple state-of-the-art observation decks with 360° views of Dubai Creek harbor and the metropolis beyond.
With an estimated construction cost of one billion dollars, the new super skyscraper will surpass other mega-buildings such as the Burj Khalifa with its 821 meters or the One World Trade Center with its 541 meters.
The design of the Dubai Creek Tower, by the renowned architecture of Spaniard Santiago Calatrava, is influenced by the natural forms of the lily and evokes the shape of a minaret, a distinctive architectural feature of Islamic culture.

What will Dubai Creek Tower be like?
“The building’s design is inspired by Islamic tradition, evoking the same history that brought the Alhambra and the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba to the world. These architectural marvels combine elegance and beauty with mathematics and geometry. The design of the Dubai Creek Harbour tower is rooted in classical art and Dubai’s culture. It is also a great technological achievement. Throughout my career, I have used technology and engineering as a vehicle for beauty and art. This project is an artistic achievement, inspired by the goal of making this space a meeting point for citizens, not only of Dubai and the UAE, but of the entire world. It is a symbol of the belief in progress,” said Calatrava.
The building's numerous observation platforms are part of an elongated, oval-shaped bud at the top of the tower. The slender stem serves as the structure's backbone, and the cables anchoring the building to the ground are reminiscent of the delicate veins of lily pads. The structure also acts as a beacon at night, with lighting that will emphasize the building's flower-bud design.

Calatrava designed the tower with a strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. The tower will use a highly efficient cooling system, and the water collected from this system will be used to clean the structure's facade.
The structure will include ten observation decks, including The Pinnacle Room, which offers unparalleled views.

The new skyscraper will have a restaurant on one of the platforms, a central plaza, retail shops, a museum, educational facilities, and an indoor auditorium.
The tower is located in the center of Dubai Creek Harbour, a six-square-kilometer real estate development located in Dubai Creek.
