SANTO DOMINGO.– From May 11 to 13, Punta Cana will host more than 150 supplier and buyer companies from 25 countries, showcasing the many tourist attractions of the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE), now in its 22nd edition, is the leading trade fair for marketing local tourism products. It will be held at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center, in the country's main tourist destination.
Rafael Blanco Tejera, president of Asonahores, the Dominican Republic's Hotel and Tourism Association, stated in a press release that DATE aims to strengthen the growth of the tourism sector to increase the flow of tourists and continue contributing to the national economic recovery.
Representatives from 25 countries out of the top 40 tourist-generating markets for the Dominican Republic will be present. Asonahores indicated that during the event, companies, suppliers, and buyers from the invited countries and the main source markets will have the opportunity to connect with the different segments and the wide variety of attractions offered by the Dominican Republic's tourism product.
