SANTO DOMINGO.- In the interest of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) to expand scholarship programs for the Aeronautical Management degree with a view to strengthening the training and education of human resources involved in the country's civil aviation, its president, José Ernesto Marte Piantini, met with the rector of the University of the Caribbean (UNICARIBE), Emilio Mínguez,

The objective of the meeting was to strengthen inter-institutional relations and consolidate projects for the benefit of air transport, according to a press release from the JAC.

The meeting took place in the Norge Botello Room at the Civil Aviation Board (JAC). Both institutions committed to promoting a series of activities aimed at training professionals, technicians, and personnel involved in air transport, as well as creating spaces for dialogue to foster the exchange of knowledge.

Furthermore, during the meeting, clear objectives were set in order to strengthen academic programs through the delivery of workshops, diplomas focused on specialized topics in the aviation sector, as well as to promote the development of research.

Similarly, both representatives proposed developing actions to train technicians from institutions and companies that provide services at the country's airport terminals, in matters of accessibility and universal design, adapted to the requirements of facilitating air transport.

In that regard, Marte Piantini reported that for several years, as a result of the agreement between the parties, the workshop "Fundamentals of Accessibility and Universal Design in Passenger Facilitation Processes at Airports" and the Diploma in Sign Language have been offered under the direction of the JAC at the UNICARIBE facilities, the latter in coordination with the National Institute of Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP).

The meeting was attended by Paola Plá Puello, secretary of the JAC, and Juan César Thomas Burgos, director of the Aeronautical Management program at Unicaribe.
