At the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2024), Banco BHD and Latam ATM Solutions announced an agreement to develop a network of ATMs in the main tourist areas of the Dominican Republic.
According to this alliance, new ATMs will be added to the BHD network, which will be available for inquiries and withdrawals free of charge for bank customers and Unared users.
The first ATMs in this network will be available by the end of 2024 and will be identified by a visual badge featuring the logos of BHD and Latam ATM Solutions.
Latam ATM Solutions is a company dedicated to developing independent ATM networks and providing outsourcing services for financial institutions in Latin America. It comprises Euronet America and Prosegur Cash.
The announcement was made by Steven Puig, president of Banco BHD; Gabriel Glasberg, director of ATM network development at Euronet; and Ignacio Cea, global director of new business at Prosegur Cash.
Puig stated that they are constantly strengthening the ATM service offering for their customers, who can currently make credit card payments, deposits, remittance withdrawals and PinPesos, and perform biometric transactions at BHD's ATM network.
He added that this alliance will allow Unared's customers and users to access more ATMs in the country's main tourist areas at no additional cost, improving their experience and promoting financial inclusion.
Timothy Fanning, CEO of Euronet America, said that BHD's choice to partner with LATAM, Euronet, Prosegur Cash and Euronet highlights the growing technology, timely compliance with mandates required by card networks and the high security standards used by its global infrastructure.
It also highlights the options they offer users, setting new standards in the industry.
Meanwhile, Cea said that the agreement with BHD through Latam ATM Solutions is a testament to Prosegur Cash and Euronet's commitment to fostering innovation and accessibility in the financial sector.
He added that as partners in this project, they strive to ensure that their ATMs are not just transaction points, but also facilitators of an enriching experience.
They are dedicated to providing accessible services that allow visitors to manage their needs easily, safely and without interruption, thus contributing to a more connected and accessible environment.
Latam ATM Solutions' ATM network in the Dominican Republic will partner with Ren to improve uptime, meet service level agreements and regulatory mandates, and provide a modern payments platform and introduce innovative products. It will also benefit from Euronet's operational private cloud, as well as its surveillance and security capabilities.
