It is the first project of its kind to be built in the Dominican Republic. It is projected to be completed by the end of 2025.

SANTO DOMINGO –With an investment of over $16 million, a new hotel from the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts family is coming to Punta Cana. This project represents a significant step toward reducing carbon emissions, as it will utilize structures made from recycled and renewable Xcarb steel.
The first of its kind to be built in the Dominican Republic, with delivery scheduled for the end of 2025, World Trade Holding Corp (WTH Corp) will employ wide-flange beams made from XCarb steel, recycled and renewablely produced by ArcelorMittal, and processed by SUALSA, a Spanish company specializing in steel product transformation.
Coral Hospitality Corp. will be in charge of operating this innovative hotel, aiming for an increasingly firm commitment to sustainable and ecological projects.
Materials
The XCarb steel structures, recycled and produced in a renewable way, have been manufactured by ArcelorMittal Olaberria (Spain) through the electric arc furnace process, using 100% recycled scrap and 100% renewable electricity.
The process allows for a reduction in the CO2 footprint of products by up to 70% (depending on the type of steel product used), compared to steel produced using the conventional process route, while maintaining the same quality standards. ArcelorMittal Distribution Iberia has begun delivering the structures to the steel processor SUALSA.
Design
The hotel incorporates the highest sustainability standards into its design to contribute to environmental protection, not only in the Dominican Republic but on a global scale.
It will have 97 rooms and a commercial area of 2,200 square meters.
This project joins the companies SUALSA, WTH Cop (a Lachapelle Group company) and ArcelorMittal.
Engineer Nigel La Chapelle, president of WTH and BIO Investment Group, notes: “This pioneering project not only represents a milestone in the hotel industry, but also reflects our commitment to the environment.

Technology
XCarb steel, recycled and produced in a renewable way, is produced with innovative technologies and environmentally friendly processes, minimizing the carbon footprint and promoting the conservation of natural resources.
The hotel is not only located in an exceptional destination for travelers, but will also be a role model in the search for sustainable solutions for the construction industry.
