Both projects represent a combined investment of 148 million pesos and aim to strengthen tourism in the Northeast of the country.
NAGUA.-The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, today led the groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction work on four plazas on the boardwalk of the municipality of Cabrera, in the province of María Trinidad Sánchez, at a cost of 83 million pesos.
He also led the opening of the renovation process of the Gri Gri Lagoon in Río San Juan, which includes an area of 3,000 m2 and an investment of 64 million pesos.
The infrastructure projects encompass the Plaza de Pescadores, Plaza Central, Plaza de la Colina, and Plaza del Faro. They will include pedestrian walkways, landscaping, a children's playground, and outdoor exercise areas, and will be built on an area of 7,350 square meters. The work includes 2,170 square meters of sidewalks and 1,367 linear meters of curbs.
Abinader was accompanied at the event by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, and other local and national authorities, who praised the initiative.
Gri Gri Lagoon
The improvement of the Gri Gri Lagoon in the municipality of Río San Juan involves an investment of over 64 million pesos and will be a space characterized by different levels of terraces that border the Lagoon, serving at the same time as a viewpoint of the beauties of the surroundings, in an approximate space of 3,000 Mts2.
It comprises a main terraced plaza made up of three stepped plazas, constructed of concrete and including fixed benches, restrooms and showers, and a universal access ramp. The project also includes a dock plaza and a turtle sanctuary.
